Chapter 166

Rosalind yanked Harrison up from the couch. "Harrison, wake up! What were you doing? You look completely exhausted."

Harrison rubbed her bleary eyes and groaned, "Just five more minutes..."

"Not a chance! We're going out." Rosalind dragged her friend toward the door.

Within the hour, they found themselves in an opulent private suite at The Velvet Lounge. Familiar faces surrounded them - Isabella, Sebastian, Arabella, and several wealthy socialites.

Sebastian stretched lazily on the plush sofa. "Isabella, Nathaniel's been overseas for two days, right? Is he returning tonight?"

Since that fateful evening, Nathaniel had departed abruptly. Harrison hadn't seen him since.

No calls. No messages. Just an unspoken understanding that whatever happened between them would remain their secret.

Isabella smirked knowingly. "He's flying back tonight."

"Did you hear?" Sebastian continued. "Mr. Falcon got caught speeding on the highway that night. Three points deducted from his license. Wild, right?"

Isabella froze, clearly unaware of the incident.

But Harrison knew exactly what had happened. That night, she and Nathaniel had been racing down the highway, doing far more than just speeding. The traffic cameras had captured everything.

A perfect example of reckless behavior.

"What got into him? Bad day?" Sebastian pressed.

Harrison tugged at Rosalind's sleeve. "Let's go."

Before they could leave, Arabella's excited voice cut through the room. "Isabella! Nathaniel bought you a gift abroad!"

Isabella's face lit up. "What is it?"

"My friend just texted me," Arabella gushed. "She saw Nathaniel at Alber's boutique ordering that ruby and diamond necklace you've been obsessing over!"

Isabella's eyes sparkled. She'd coveted that particular piece for months. The thought of Nathaniel remembering made her pulse quicken.

Sebastian and the others chuckled. "No question it's for you, Isabella."

"Mr. Falcon's so romantic. Even on business trips, he's thinking of you."

"You must show us when you get it! Nobody in our circle has that piece yet."

Isabella beamed. "You're all terrible when Nathaniel's not here to defend himself."

Harrison pulled at Rosalind again, desperate to leave. Rosalind muttered angrily, "He spoils Isabella rotten. Buying her expensive jewelry while abroad. Has he forgotten who his actual wife is?"

The words "actual wife" stabbed Harrison's heart. She forced a bitter smile.

Nathaniel had never gifted her anything. Once, she'd admired a handbag he'd bought, thinking it was for her. Her compliment had backfired spectacularly - leading to that humiliating joke about Alexander gifting her bags instead.

Ding!

Her phone vibrated. A WhatsApp notification.

Harrison unlocked her device. Her breath caught - a message from Nathaniel.

He'd sent a photo.

Her pulse raced as she recognized the ruby and diamond necklace. The accompanying message was brief, typical Nathaniel:
