Chapter 387

"What?"

Harrison gasped, her eyes widening in shock. "You did it? What exactly happened?"

Rosalind held up two fingers, tapping them together lightly. "We kissed."

A relieved sigh escaped Harrison's lips - she'd feared Rosalind and Everett might have already crossed more intimate boundaries.

She studied Rosalind with curious intensity. "Do you genuinely have feelings for Everett?"

An image of Everett's striking yet aloof features flashed through Rosalind's mind. Her pulse quickened, emotions swirling beyond her control. So this was the undeniable pull of falling in love.

With a shy nod, she whispered, "Yes."

Harrison seemed poised to say something more, then hesitated. Matters of the heart belonged solely to those involved; outsiders had no place interfering.

Thirty minutes later, they arrived at the Whitmore residence. Harrison and Rosalind stepped inside.

Harrison remained unaware of Rosalind's true identity, though Rosalind intended to explain soon. She'd strictly instructed everyone today - no one was to reveal her secret.

"Ms... Ms. Fairchild, you've arrived!" Beatrice greeted them warmly.

Both women smiled politely. Just then, Alistair descended the staircase. "Hello, Harrison."

Harrison's sharp gaze met Alistair's as she nodded. "I understand you wished to speak with me?"

Alistair offered a polite smile. "Shall we converse in the study?"

"Certainly," Harrison agreed.

A deep, resonant voice interrupted. "Wait."

Harrison turned to see Nathaniel standing near the entrance.

Nathaniel had come personally.

Rosalind blinked in surprise. "Mr. Falcon, what brings you here? Seeking Harrison?"

Nathaniel's intense gaze fixed on Harrison. He'd texted earlier, but receiving no response, chose to appear in person.

"Harrison, we need to talk."

Alistair arched an eyebrow at Nathaniel. "You'll have to wait your turn. I extended the invitation first. Harrison, shall we?"

Harrison followed Alistair upstairs without hesitation.

Left waiting in the parlor, Nathaniel stood rigidly when Rosalind approached. "What's so urgent you needed to ambush her?"

Nathaniel's lips pressed into a thin line. "Are you aware she's been seeing Oliver?"

Rosalind smirked. "Is dating suddenly a crime? You're engaged to Isabella. Expecting Harrison to remain celibate for eternity?"

Nathaniel remained silent.

Upstairs, in the study.

Harrison entered first while Alistair took a phone call.

It was her first time in Alistair's private sanctuary. She glanced around before settling into his chair, casually picking up one of his academic journals.

When Alistair returned, he froze mid-step. Harrison sat reviewing his notes with casual expertise.

Meeting his stunned gaze, she asked simply, "So, Alistair, what did you wish to discuss?"

Hearing his given name from her lips, Alistair nearly collapsed, knees buckling.

The truth crystallized before him.

His eyes widened in stunned realization as he stammered, "Y-You're Dr. Sinclair?"

Harrison's lips curved into a confident smile, her voice clear as crystal. "Indeed."

Without warning, Alistair dropped to his knees.

"Mr. Whitmore!" The butler rushed forward in alarm. "Sir, are you unwell?"

Alistair waved him off weakly. "I-I'm perfectly fine."
