Chapter 70
Sebastian's eyes lit up with curiosity. "What sort of challenge did you have in mind?"
Harrison knew Sebastian was obsessed with mobile gaming. "Let's settle this with one round. Winner takes all."
"You're joking!" Sebastian burst into laughter. "You're challenging me? I'm ranked top 100 globally, Harrison! Do you honestly think you stand a chance?"
A sly smile played on Harrison's lips. "We'll see about that."
Sebastian whipped out his phone. "Game on! Prepare to get schooled."
Both screens illuminated as the match began.
In-game, Sebastian's avatar executed a perfect aerial spin, his legendary sword gleaming. "Say goodbye, Harrison!"
Then came the deafening "DEFEAT" notification. The match had ended abruptly.
Sebastian shot up from his chair, face frozen in shock. While he'd been showing off his signature move, Harrison had descended from above with a radiant battle-axe, delivering the killing blow.
Impossible.
He was a pro gamer. A tournament champion.
His voice trembled. "You... you actually beat me?"
Harrison's smirk widened. "Looks like you owe me, Mr. Willowbrook."
She pocketed her phone and moved to Gabrielle, gently removing the gag. "Are you hurt?"
Gabrielle straightened her clothes. "I'm fine, Harrison."
"Let's get out of here."
As they turned to leave, Sebastian blocked their path. "Not so fast!"
Harrison's gaze turned glacial. "A deal's a deal. You lost. We're leaving."
Sebastian's face twisted in frustration. "That was a fluke! Best two out of three!"
A deep baritone voice cut through the tension. "Sebastian. Explain yourself."
Nathaniel stood framed in the doorway, dressed in all black. His piercing stare made Sebastian shrink back.
"Nathaniel? What are you doing here?" Sebastian stammered.
Harrison answered coolly, "I called him."
Their eyes met across the room - an unspoken understanding passing between them.
Sebastian spluttered, "That's cheating! You can't just-"
Nathaniel's palm connected sharply with the back of Sebastian's head. "What were you thinking?" His voice dripped with warning. "Apologize. Now."
"You want me to apologize to Harrison? But-"
Nathaniel raised his hand again.
Sebastian immediately cowered. "Fine! Harrison, I'm sorry."
Harrison stepped forward, her petite frame radiating authority. "Listen carefully, Mr. Willowbrook. First - I'm not the one clinging to this marriage. Your precious Nathaniel refuses to sign the papers. Maybe direct your energy toward convincing him instead of harassing me."
Sebastian's face flushed crimson. "You little-"
"Second." Harrison closed the distance between them. "Touch my friends again, and I'll finish what Nathaniel started."
