Chapter 367

Dr. Sinclair was a woman?

Both Margaret and Penelope froze, their faces draining of color. "Mr. Oliver, what do you mean? Dr. Sinclair can't possibly be female. I'm dating him! He's definitely a man!"

Oliver arched one eyebrow. "Not only do I know Dr. Sinclair, we're actually quite close. Let me repeat - she's a woman."

Penelope stood motionless, shock rendering her speechless. "That's absurd! You must be lying to me!"

Margaret also refused to believe it. "Mr. Oliver, I understand you're seeing Harrison now, but there's no need for such cruel jokes."

Seeing their disbelief, Oliver simply shrugged. "Dr. Sinclair is female. Believe what you want. Harrison, let's go."

"Alright."

Oliver turned and left with Harrison.

Margaret and Penelope remained rooted in place, stunned.

Margaret clutched Penelope's arm nervously. "Why would Mr. Oliver claim Dr. Sinclair is a woman? What's happening?"

Just then, Isabella emerged from the fitting room, now dressed in her regular clothes. She and Victoria approached them with grave expressions.

"Penelope, are you absolutely certain the person you're dating is truly Dr. Sinclair?"

"This is critical, Penelope!" Margaret stressed. "We've invested everything. I even mortgaged the family estate. If we've been deceived, the Whitmore family is ruined!"

Penelope, equally anxious, had always believed she was romantically involved with Dr. Sinclair. When Harrison first warned that Dr. Sinclair might be a fraud, no one listened. Now, with Oliver's revelation, doubt crept in.

But she forced composure. "Why trust Mr. Oliver? He's Harrison's partner. Obviously he's just trying to mess with us. Don't fall for it!"

Isabella turned to Nathaniel. "Nathaniel, what do you think?"

Nathaniel glanced toward where Harrison and Oliver had disappeared, his voice low and measured.

"I've never met Dr. Sinclair. Our paths never crossed. But Oliver operates in Florentia's highest circles, with connections in both legal and underground networks. If he claims to know Dr. Sinclair and insists she's female, there might be truth to it."

Penelope's anxiety deepened while Isabella paled.

They'd just celebrated their fortunes multiplying tenfold, only to potentially discover they'd been swindled.

No one could accept this!

At that moment, Nathaniel's phone rang.

He looked at Isabella. "Continue your shopping. I need to return to the office."

With that, Nathaniel departed.

"Nathaniel!"

Margaret grabbed Isabella's arm. "What do we do now? You must ask Mr. Falcon for help!"

Isabella sighed. "Nathaniel warned us against investing with Dr. Sinclair."

What?

Margaret's expression shifted dramatically.

Penelope finally spoke. "We can't panic yet. Here's the plan - I'll call Dr. Sinclair tonight and demand our money back."

"Fine. We'll await your call."

That evening, Penelope returned home. Frederick and Cassandra immediately surrounded her.

"Penelope, didn't you go out with Dr. Sinclair today? When's the wedding? Your grandmother wants you and Isabella to have a joint ceremony that'll stun Willowbrook. Your father and I have been boasting to all the local elites, and now everyone's green with envy," Cassandra gushed.

Frederick lounged on the sofa.

"The second branch has been flaunting their connection to Mr. Falcon. But now Dr. Sinclair will be our son-in-law. We've finally one-upped them! Penelope, you must secure Dr. Sinclair. A miracle doctor - that's our ultimate triumph."
