Chapter 81
Harrison emerged from the bathroom to find Nathaniel absent. That call from Isabella must have summoned him away. A wry smile touched her lips as she shook her head at the predictability.
Her phone vibrated - Victoria was calling.
She answered immediately. "Harrison, Isabella invited some friends over today. Why don't you join us?"
Was this genuine kindness from Victoria?
"Sure, I'll be right there," Harrison replied simply.
Gabrielle rushed over upon hearing the news. "Harrison, I don't trust Victoria's motives! Now that Vincent is out of prison, are you certain about visiting the Whitmore residence?"
Harrison remained composed. "I just need to verify something."
Unconvinced, Gabrielle insisted on accompanying her.
The Whitmore house buzzed with activity when they arrived. Isabella's guests had all assembled - Sebastian and several other wealthy heirs from their social circle.
Sebastian's face darkened when he spotted Harrison. "What are you doing here?"
Isabella smiled sweetly. "I invited Harrison."
Sebastian scowled. "Why would you do that? Nobody wants her here."
Unfazed, Harrison blinked playfully and smirked. "I don't waste time with amateurs either."
Sebastian froze, speechless.
Amateur? He was a champion!
The memory of his humiliating defeat at Harrison's hands resurfaced, and before he could think, Sebastian jumped up.
"Harrison, you dare challenge me again?"
He needed redemption.
Harrison arched an eyebrow dismissively. "Too busy for games."
Sebastian's face turned crimson. "You little-"
Gabrielle burst into laughter. The notorious Sebastian only feared Nathaniel. And now, Harrison had joined that exclusive club.
She knew someday Harrison would make this brat grovel.
Victoria reappeared. "Harrison, you're here! Let me introduce someone."
Vincent stepped forward.
Victoria smiled. "This is Harrison's adoptive father from the countryside."
Sebastian and the other heirs stared at Vincent in confusion. "Her father? Why's he missing an eye?"
Harrison's expression remained unreadable as she realized their true purpose in summoning Vincent.
Vincent shuffled toward Harrison. "Harrison, it's been-"
Before he could finish, Gabrielle stepped between them, her voice icy. "Stay away from her. Haven't you done enough damage?"
Vincent hesitated, then adopted a wounded expression. "Harrison, I raised you in the countryside. How can you pretend not to know me? Now that you're living in luxury, you've forgotten your roots?"
Isabella intervened with feigned concern. "Harrison, he's still your father. You should take responsibility for him."
Harrison's cold gaze never left Vincent. Beneath his pitiful act, she saw the malice in his eyes - a silent threat.
Vincent's expression shifted to exaggerated sorrow. "Harrison, I shouldn't have come. If you're happy, that's enough. I'll return to the countryside."
