Chapter 71
Sebastian gasped sharply, his face draining of color.
What was this country bumpkin saying? She wanted to teach him a lesson on Nathaniel's behalf? Was she out of her mind?
In all of Willowbrook, the only person who could stand up to him—the local troublemaker—was Nathaniel!
Harrison tugged Gabrielle's hand. "Let's go."
As they turned toward the exit, Nathaniel reached out and caught her slender wrist.
His long fingers wrapped around hers, sending an electric jolt through them both. Memories of that night at Rosewood Manor flashed through their minds—when he had pinned her against the wall...
Harrison yanked her hand free.
Nathaniel studied her delicate features, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly. "Harrison," he said coolly, "this won't happen again."
She met his gaze with icy disdain. "Sort things out with Beatrice soon. I'm ready to file for divorce anytime. I've been wanting to hand Isabella her rightful title as Mrs. Falcon for a while now."
With that, she turned and left, Gabrielle in tow.
Nathaniel watched her retreating figure, his brow furrowing.
Sebastian whined, "Nathaniel, what was that about?"
Nathaniel shot him a warning glare.
Sebastian clamped his mouth shut, then grumbled, "Harrison just destroyed me in a mobile game! She killed me!"
Nathaniel arched a brow. "She beat you?"
Sebastian was no amateur—few could match his gaming skills.
"I demand a rematch!" Sebastian pulled out his phone and sent Harrison a challenge.
She was still online. She accepted.
Another round began.
This time, Sebastian didn’t hold back. He charged at her with his massive sword, roaring, "Die!"
Game Over.
"Damn it!" Sebastian nearly threw his phone. He’d been shouting threats, yet Harrison had effortlessly crushed him again.
He was losing his mind. She was dominating him completely.
How? He was a champion!
Nathaniel’s dark eyes flickered with surprise. He hadn’t expected Harrison to be this skilled. Sebastian couldn’t even land a hit.
Then Nathaniel remembered—her lightning-fast reflexes during their last confrontation.
Was there a connection? He quickly dismissed the thought.
Sebastian suddenly yelled, "Nathaniel, look what she just sent me!"
Harrison had messaged him in-game. Nathaniel glanced at the screen.
Get lost, rookie.
Sebastian’s face burned with humiliation. "She’s mocking me!"
Nathaniel smirked, a low chuckle escaping him. She was... fascinating.
Through the polished glass, Nathaniel watched Harrison walk down the street with Gabrielle. Her raven-black hair cascaded over her shoulders, soft and luminous, enhancing her delicate beauty.
He couldn’t look away.
"Challenge her!" Sebastian urged. "You’ve never met someone who could actually compete with you. Crush her and teach her some respect!"
