Chapter 596

"I can sense your heart isn't truly mine!" Rosalind whispered, tightening her arms around Everett's waist. "But now, everything's changed. We're finally together. Nothing will ever tear us apart again!"

Everett remained silent, his expression unreadable as he held her.

As they stepped out of the room, Reginald approached with a knowing smirk. "So, how was last night with Everett?"

Rosalind beamed, her cheeks flushed with triumph. "Everett is officially part of our family now."

Reginald let out a booming laugh. "Excellent! Everett, welcome to the Blackwoods. I've already spoken to him—he's on his way here."

Everett's eyes narrowed. "He's coming?"

"Indeed," Reginald confirmed, clapping him on the shoulder. "He'll be attending your wedding to Rosalind. Everything's arranged—you'll be married in three days."

Three days?

Everett's jaw tightened. The old fox had played him perfectly.

First, he'd orchestrated last night. Now, he was forcing a rushed wedding before Everett could react.

Rosalind studied his face, her smile faltering. "You... don't want to marry me?"

Both father and daughter watched him expectantly.

Everett forced a slow exhale. "Of course I do. I was just thinking three days might be too soon. Don't you need time for a proper wedding dress?"

Rosalind's face lit up like the sun.

"Oh, don't worry about that! I've already had mine designed. Dad, you'll need to give Everett time off these next few days. We have so much shopping to do—I intend to be the most breathtaking bride the world has ever seen."

Reginald chuckled. "Consider it done. Go enjoy yourselves."

Rosalind practically glowed with happiness.

Meanwhile, across town, Harrison took far too long to regain her strength.

By the time she woke, Everett was already gone.

Her fingers hovered over her phone, itching to message him—but she hesitated. He was probably busy. She set it down.

Then it rang.

"Harrison?" Lillian's voice trembled through the speaker.

Harrison's grip tightened. "Lillian? What's wrong?"

Lillian broke into sobs. "I-I tried calling Everett, but he didn't answer. Mom collapsed—she's in the hospital!"

Harrison shot to her feet. "I'm on my way."

She raced to the hospital, where Theodore met her at the door.

"Ms. Fairchild," he said quietly.

"Dr. Whitmore, what happened to Mrs. Sinclair?"

Theodore's expression darkened. "You should prepare yourself. She won't last more than two days."

Harrison's breath caught.

From inside the room, Lillian's anguished cry pierced the air.

"Two days?! Harrison, what is he saying?"
