Chapter 314
"Not just that—those were the senior executives of the Global Scholars Forum who personally greeted Harrison earlier," Margaret gasped, her eyes wide with shock.
Victoria exchanged an equally stunned look with her.
Arabella scoffed, her voice dripping with disdain. "Harrison never even finished high school. She’s always involved in something questionable. We shouldn’t let her intimidate us."
"Absolutely!" Isabella chimed in, nodding vigorously. "She’s definitely up to something shady. We should expose her. Grandma, Mom, let’s go inside and see what she’s really doing!"
Margaret let out a derisive snort. "Good thing I severed ties with her long ago. Whatever mess she causes inside won’t reflect on us."
Nathaniel strode into the grand hall, his sharp gaze scanning the crowd. He searched every corner, but Harrison was nowhere in sight.
He had rushed in earlier, trying to catch up to her, but she had vanished. Where could she have gone?
Turning to a nearby staff member, he asked, "Who uses the VIP entrance?"
The staff member answered respectfully, "Mr. Falcon, the VIP entrance is reserved for the top scholars from elite universities attending the Global Scholars Forum."
Top scholars from elite universities? Then why had Harrison used the VIP entrance?
"Mr. Falcon, your seat is right this way. Please follow me."
Nathaniel followed the staff member to the front row of the central section—the most prestigious seating in the entire venue.
He noticed the seat beside him was empty.
Glancing at it, he asked, "Is this reserved for the prodigy freshman?"
"Yes, Mr. Falcon."
"She hasn’t arrived yet?"
"I’m not certain."
With a dismissive wave, Nathaniel sent the staff member away.
His gaze dropped to the platinum watch on his wrist. The Global Scholars Forum was about to begin, yet his elusive, brilliant junior was still missing.
Meanwhile, Margaret, Isabella, Penelope, and Arabella were seated in the right section, all craning their necks to stare at the empty seat beside Nathaniel.
"That vacant spot next to Mr. Falcon must be for the prodigy freshman, right?"
"Obviously. Everyone’s been waiting to see Mr. Falcon and the genius make their first public appearance together."
"Where is she? Why hasn’t she shown up yet?"
"I can’t wait to meet her!"
As whispers buzzed around them, Isabella clenched her fists, jealousy burning in her chest. "She really knows how to make an entrance."
Sebastian, seated behind Nathaniel, fidgeted nervously, clutching a bouquet of crimson roses. He leaned forward and whispered, "Nathaniel, where’s my dream girl? Can’t you text her or something? Everyone’s waiting."
Nathaniel pulled out his phone and opened the group chat. He tagged H and typed:
[Still not here?]
Ding!
A reply flashed on the screen.
[I’m here.]
She claimed to have arrived, yet no one had seen her.
Nathaniel stared at the single letter H on his screen and typed again:
[What does H stand for?]
H replied instantly:
[It’s my name.]
Her name?
H?
A sudden realization struck him. The letter H could only mean one thing—Harrison.
His mind raced. Could his prodigy freshman really be Harrison?
No. Impossible.
He dismissed the thought immediately. Harrison had dropped out at sixteen. There was no way she could be the brilliant scholar he’d been waiting for.
Just then, the host stepped onto the stage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Global Scholars Forum! Let the event officially begin."
