Chapter 946
Genevieve's voice turned urgent. "Then get the procedure started immediately. We need to witness this with our own eyes!"
The nurse gave a quick nod. "Right away."
Just as she turned toward the operating room doors, one of Julian's men came sprinting down the hallway, panic written across his face. "Emergency!"
Julian whirled around, his brow furrowing. "What's happened? Why are you in such a state?"
"Mr. Graves is here!"
Both Julian and Genevieve paled. "What did you just say? Who's here?"
"Lucian Graves! He brought an entire security team. They've already secured the entire hospital perimeter and are making their way here now. They'll arrive any moment!"
Genevieve's pulse skyrocketed. "How did Lucian get here so quickly? I was certain he didn't even know about Rosalind's pregnancy yet!"
Julian's eyes darkened dangerously. "Unless someone tipped him off."
"Coming in with this level of force," Genevieve analyzed quickly, "he must know about the baby!"
The messenger wiped sweat from his brow. "We have to evacuate immediately!"
Julian cast a frustrated glance toward the operating room. "Damn it! The procedure hasn't even begun, and Lucian's already storming the gates!"
Genevieve's mind raced. She couldn't fathom how Lucian had discovered their plans, but one thing was clear - he knew about the pregnancy now.
Without hesitation, she grabbed Julian's arm. "We need to leave. Now."
Julian clenched his fists. "But the baby - it's still inside her! After everything we've orchestrated, we're just going to walk away empty-handed?"
A cruel smile twisted Genevieve's lips as a wicked idea took shape. "Who said anything about leaving empty-handed?"
Julian turned sharply. "You have another play?"
Genevieve snapped her fingers at the nurse. "Bring the surgeon out here immediately."
The doctor emerged from the operating room, looking confused. "How may I assist you?"
Genevieve stepped closer, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "Lucian Graves is about to arrive. You understand what needs to be said, correct?"
The surgeon swallowed hard. "I-I'm not certain I follow. Please instruct me specifically, and I'll relay whatever message you require."
Genevieve's eyes turned glacial. "Tell Lucian that Rosalind came here voluntarily. That she chose to terminate this pregnancy of her own free will."
The doctor froze.
Julian let out an impressed chuckle. He'd never underestimated Genevieve - this woman was truly formidable.
"You heard her. Rosalind didn't want this child. She came here willingly for the procedure. Understood?"
The surgeon nodded rapidly. "Understood."
Genevieve leaned in, her voice dripping with menace. "If Lucian discovers the truth, your entire family will pay the price."
The doctor's throat worked as he repeated the script. "The termination was Ms. Fairchild's decision. She came for the procedure voluntarily. I've never seen either of you before. You have no connection to this matter."
Julian gave an approving nod. "Move out."
He and Genevieve hurried away with their entourage.
Moments later, the doors burst open as Lucian stormed in with Nathaniel and a squad of armed guards. Spotting the surgeon, Lucian grabbed him by the collar and slammed him against the wall.
"Where is Rosalind? Where the hell is she?!"
The doctor stammered, "M-Mr. Graves, she's inside the operating theater!"
Operating theater?
Lucian kicked the door open and charged inside.
There lay Rosalind, unconscious on the surgical table.
He rushed to her side, gripping her limp hand. "Rosalind? Rosalind, wake up!"
When she didn't respond, Lucian turned his burning gaze on the surgeon. "What the fuck did you do to her?!"
