Chapter 305
Isabella's gaze lifted, meeting the striking features of Nathaniel's face as he appeared before her.
Her breath caught. What was he doing here?
"N-Nathaniel?" Her voice trembled.
His icy stare bore into her, offering no explanation.
Harrison's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Isabella, I invited Mr. Falcon to join us."
What?
Isabella's stomach dropped. She hadn't anticipated Harrison making this move.
Harrison stepped closer, amusement dancing in her sharp eyes. "You and Arabella put on quite the spectacle today. Naturally, I wanted him to witness it firsthand."
Her smirk deepened. "You knew Julian was Rosalind's fiancé, yet you encouraged Arabella to pursue him, breaking Rosalind's heart. Then today, Julian publicly declared his love for Arabella. You twisted the truth, making everyone believe Rosalind was unworthy, calling her names."
Her words struck like daggers. "Isabella, your cruelty is unforgivable. It would've been a shame if Mr. Falcon missed seeing your true nature."
Isabella paled, her pulse racing.
She hadn't expected Harrison to outmaneuver her like this.
Nathaniel had seen everything. Rosalind was his beloved cousin, the Whitmore family's treasure.
Desperate, she reached for him. "Nathaniel, please—let me explain!"
His expression remained frozen. Without a word, he shoved her hand away.
She stumbled back, panic clawing at her throat.
Harrison's gaze locked onto Nathaniel's. "Mr. Falcon."
He turned toward her.
Her voice was firm. "Control your woman. If she crosses me again, I won't hold back."
With that, she turned and walked away.
As she passed him, her shoulder deliberately brushed against his—a bold, defiant move.
Nathaniel watched her go, equal parts irritated and intrigued by her audacity.
The moment Harrison disappeared, Isabella grabbed his sleeve. "Nathaniel, listen—"
"What's left to explain?" His voice was glacial. "I saw it all. You knew Rosalind was Bebe, yet you and Arabella still did this. Is this how you planned to earn my family's approval?"
He had stayed by her side these past days, considering marriage. He'd hoped she and Bebe could reconcile.
But her actions shattered that illusion.
Isabella's hands shook. "I tried, but Bebe hates me! She kicked me out. She only accepts Harrison!"
"And that justifies hurting her?" His voice cut like ice.
She faltered. "I—"
His lips twisted in disgust. "You're not the woman I thought you were."
He turned and walked away.
Isabella stood frozen, her heart sinking.
She hadn't changed.
He had simply never truly seen her.
To him, she would always be the girl from that cave.
The girl he mistook for Harrison.
