Chapter 236
Nathaniel's throat moved as his gaze locked onto Harrison. She had an ethereal beauty that seemed too perfect for this world. Then she sent him that provocative GIF right in the middle of his important meeting.
Damn. His angel had a devilish side.
She appeared to excel at everything, always one step ahead.
Lucien chuckled. "Mrs. Falcon looks so youthful. She must be quite demanding. Mr. Falcon, can you handle such a wife?"
Having a beautiful young wife was one thing. Keeping up with her was another matter entirely.
Nathaniel watched Harrison through the glass partition. Truthfully, he wasn't sure. Their relationship hadn't progressed that far yet, and he genuinely wondered if he could match her energy.
Ding!
Another message from Harrison appeared.
Nathaniel opened it. [Mr. Falcon, are you man enough? If not, I'm leaving.]
Bloody hell!
Nathaniel cursed under his breath. How was he supposed to concentrate with her behaving like this?
Outside, Harrison sipped her latte, secretly pleased by his visible frustration. She knew Nathaniel wouldn't abandon his meeting for her. With a satisfied smile, she gathered her things to leave.
Just as she turned, a deep voice rumbled behind her. "Going somewhere?"
That voice...
Harrison spun around. The conference room door stood open, revealing Nathaniel's imposing figure.
He actually left his meeting?
Nathaniel closed the distance between them in three long strides. Before she could react, he was right in front of her. "Let's go."
Harrison blinked. "Go...where?"
Nathaniel captured her delicate hand, his fingers tracing circles on her pale skin. "Anywhere you want. Your choice."
Harrison's breath caught.
Her mind reeled. This was just supposed to be playful teasing. Had she crossed a line? Was he serious?
Holy hell!
Lucien emerged, asking in perfect Francais, "Mr. Falcon, aren't you going to introduce us?"
Harrison glanced at Nathaniel.
Nathaniel smirked, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "What? Thought you were good at everything. Can't understand Francais?"
His teasing carried a sharp edge.
Harrison arched an eyebrow, her piercing gaze shifting to Lucien. She responded in flawless Francais, "Enchanté. Je m'appelle Harrison."
Nathaniel froze. Since when did she speak Francais?
This was unexpected - especially her impeccable pronunciation.
Lucien's eyes widened. "Mrs. Falcon, you speak Francais? No wonder you captivated Mr. Falcon."
Harrison's playful eyes met Nathaniel's aristocratic features. "Him? So full of himself. Thought I couldn't understand a word."
Lucien grinned at Nathaniel. "Mr. Falcon, it seems your wife has many surprises in store - things you'll need to discover personally."
She was indeed full of surprises.
Clearly, Harrison had layers Nathaniel had yet to uncover.
Nathaniel gave her a long, intense look before bidding Lucien farewell. Without explanation, he seized Harrison's hand and marched toward the elevators.
Nathaniel practically dragged Harrison downstairs. She tugged at her trapped hand. "Mr. Falcon, shouldn't you return to your meeting? I was just joking earlier."
Silently, Nathaniel yanked open the door of his Rolls-Royce Phantom and unceremoniously shoved her inside.
Leaning against the doorframe, he flashed a dangerous smile. "Done playing games? Now it's my turn."
