Chapter 462
Harrison froze for a heartbeat before realizing Nathaniel had just made an inappropriate joke. The unexpected remark caught her completely off guard.
Her cheeks burned crimson. "You're absolutely vile!"
Nathaniel strode ahead with his long legs, casually entering Vitalis Health while muttering, "What exactly was vile about that? Seems like your mind's always in the gutter."
Harrison was rendered speechless.
This man appeared so refined and put-together, yet beneath that polished exterior lurked the most shameless person she'd ever met.
Refusing to continue this embarrassing conversation, Harrison followed him inside. Almost immediately, Lawrence Pembroke, the director of Vitalis Health, came rushing over, clearly startled. "Mr. Falcon, what brings you here at this hour?"
Lawrence wasn't on duty tonight. He'd been summoned by Nathaniel's call and had rushed over from home.
Nathaniel replied smoothly, "I brought someone for a pregnancy test."
Lawrence's eyebrows shot up. "Who might that be?"
Nathaniel stepped aside slightly, allowing Harrison to come forward. "Her."
Lawrence's eyes widened dramatically, his pupils dilating as he sucked in a sharp breath. "Y-You..."
Nathaniel's gaze turned sharp. "You know Harrison?"
Lawrence stammered, "I-I..."
While Lawrence was visibly flustered, Harrison remained perfectly composed. "No, we've never met." Beads of sweat formed on Lawrence's forehead as his mind raced. Both Harrison and Nathaniel appearing at Vitalis Health simultaneously without warning? He'd been caught completely unprepared.
Nathaniel spoke again, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Dr. Pembroke, prepare the pregnancy test forms immediately."
Lawrence snapped to attention. "Right away, sir. Please follow me to my office."
Nathaniel led the way into the director's office. When he turned, he noticed Lawrence hovering around Harrison like an anxious shadow, his deferential manner suggesting he feared she might somehow injure herself.
"Ms. Whitmore, please, right this way."
Nathaniel, receiving no such attention, frowned deeply.
The world was becoming increasingly bizarre—one he no longer recognized. Why was Lawrence treating Harrison with such reverence?
Harrison walked ahead calmly. "Dr. Pembroke, just give Mr. Falcon the forms as he requested. I'm only here for the pregnancy test."
Lawrence nodded eagerly. "Of course, right away."
He quickly prepared the necessary documents.
Nathaniel reached for them, but Lawrence had already moved to Harrison's side. "Ms. Whitmore, the blood draw station is this way. Allow me to escort you."
Without a second thought, Lawrence began guiding Harrison away, seemingly having forgotten Nathaniel entirely, leaving him standing there.
Only when Harrison turned back did she remember Nathaniel. "Mr. Falcon, aren't you coming?"
Noticing Nathaniel standing silently, Lawrence slapped his forehead. "Right! Mr. Falcon, this way please."
Nathaniel's irritation grew.
The entire situation felt unsettlingly peculiar.
Harrison finally spoke up. "Dr. Pembroke, just give the forms to Mr. Falcon. He'll accompany me personally—that's the only way he'll be satisfied."
"Of course." Lawrence handed the documents to Nathaniel with both hands.
Nathaniel took them, then turned to Harrison. "Let's go."
As they walked away, Lawrence wiped his brow, his mind spinning. The big boss was here—with Nathaniel Falcon no less—for a pregnancy test?
Could Harrison Whitmore actually be pregnant?
If so, he couldn't begin to imagine what kind of extraordinary child the union of these two powerhouses might produce.
Whoever was born into that family would undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with.
