Chapter 273
Harrison stood motionless, her piercing gaze fixed on Nathaniel.
Nathaniel shot her an icy look before turning to Isabella, his voice softening. "Let's go home."
He had just confirmed it—right in front of Harrison.
Isabella smiled sweetly, knowing Harrison's heart must be seething with envy and resentment. The country girl was surely suffering now.
"Alright."
Isabella looped her arm through Nathaniel's, preparing to leave with him.
Just as they turned, Harrison's clear voice stopped them. "Nathaniel."
She called his name.
Nathaniel halted and turned back.
Isabella smirked. "Harrison, you're divorced now. Still clinging to Nathaniel? Trying to win him back?"
Harrison stood tall in the hallway, spine straight as an arrow. She ignored Isabella, her crystal-clear eyes locked on Nathaniel's aristocratic features.
Her voice was soft but unshakable. "Nathaniel, I loved you!"
Their gazes met.
Harrison's melodic voice carried conviction. "Loving someone with all your heart isn't shameful. But it shouldn't excuse how you treated me. I once loved you truly. Not anymore."
She didn't love Nathaniel now.
Nathaniel's imposing frame stiffened slightly.
Harrison stepped forward, long legs closing the distance between them.
Her tone remained steady. "We're divorced. Just exes now. Decent exes pretend not to recognize each other in public. Better yet, act like we're dead to each other. So control your current girlfriend. Don't parade her in front of me. I'm your ex-wife, not your mother. Marry, have kids—none of my business. I don't care."
Isabella's face flushed crimson. She'd come to gloat, to see Harrison suffer. Instead, Harrison approached with calm dignity, turning the tables.
Isabella snapped, "Harrison, how dare you—"
Harrison stopped before them, lips curling in a cold smile. Her sharp eyes pinned Isabella. "What exactly are you boasting about? Mrs. Falcon was a title I discarded. Nathaniel's a man I've already had. You're proud of taking leftovers? Never seen such a shameless rebound."
Isabella was speechless.
Fury tightened her chest. Since when did Harrison become so razor-tongued?
Without another word, Harrison turned to leave.
Then Sebastian appeared.
He stepped forward. "Harrison, Nathaniel divorced you! Why keep showing up? How shameless can—"
"And you, Sebastian!" Harrison cut him off sharply. "Lower your voice when speaking to me. Or I'll tell everyone how you dropped from champion to bronze after I beat you in that mobile game. They'll all laugh at you!"
Sebastian froze, then snapped, "Harrison, you viper!"
Harrison gave him a once-over. "This isn't even my worst. Keep bothering me, and next time I'll demote you from bronze to complete trash."
What?
Sebastian nearly choked.
Harrison didn't spare them another glance. She walked away with effortless grace.
Sebastian fumed. "Nathaniel, look at her!"
Isabella was equally livid. "Nathaniel, did you hear her?"
