Chapter 945

Lucian froze. The revelation hit him like a thunderbolt - Rosalind was pregnant.

Two months along, and she'd kept this from him?

His fingers trembled as he managed to say, "Thank you, Dr. Sinclair."

The moment the call ended, Lucian sprang from his chair, eyes blazing with emotion. He turned to Nathaniel. "Did you hear that? Rosalind's carrying my child. I'm going to be a father!"

Nathaniel's face lit up. "Congratulations, Mr. Graves! This is wonderful news!"

Yes, it was. After months of longing, his deepest wish had come true.

Lucian felt lightheaded with joy. The woman he loved was carrying their baby.

Then Nathaniel's question cut through his euphoria. "Do you know where Ms. Fairchild is currently?"

Lucian's smile vanished. He didn't. From Harrison's earlier tone, she seemed equally clueless.

Where could Rosalind be?

Pregnant and possibly in danger? The thought made his blood run cold.

Guilt twisted his gut. Now he understood - she'd already been pregnant during their visit to Lillian's home. Those sudden cravings for sour foods, the unusual fatigue, that moment when she'd pressed his hand against her stomach...

All the signs had been there. She'd been trying to tell him.

Lucian cursed his own obliviousness. How could he have missed this?

"I'm calling her right now!"

He snatched his phone and dialed Rosalind's number. The ringing tone mocked him with its endless repetition. Still no answer.

"Why won't she pick up? Where the hell is she?" Lucian's knuckles turned white around his phone.

Nathaniel's expression darkened. "Do you think... something might be wrong?"

A cold dread settled in Lucian's chest. This wasn't like Rosalind. She'd never ignore so many calls.

He needed to find her. Immediately.

"Track her location now. I want answers this second!"

"Right away, sir."

Nathaniel rushed out to begin the search.

Lucian paced before the floor-to-ceiling windows, tension coiling in his muscles. Every instinct screamed that something was terribly wrong.

Where was his Rosalind?

Minutes later, Nathaniel burst back in. "We've found her! I know where she is!"

Lucian's entire body went rigid. "Where?"

"She's at Willowbrook General."

The hospital?

Lucian's breath caught. "Why is she there? Is she injured?"

"Details are unclear. We need to go immediately."

Lucian was already striding toward the door. "Get the car! We leave now!"

The black Maybach screeched to a halt outside the hospital entrance. Lucian was out before the engine stopped.

Nathaniel hurried after him. "The building's been secured."

Lucian's jaw clenched. "Move!"

He needed wings to fly to her side this instant.

With Nathaniel and a team of security personnel in tow, Lucian stormed through the hospital doors. Their dramatic entrance turned every head in the lobby.

Meanwhile, Julian and Genevieve lingered outside the operating room. They hadn't budged. After orchestrating Rosalind's arrival and placement on that table, they wanted front-row seats to witness the destruction of Lucian and Rosalind's unborn child.

That baby could never see the light of day.

A nurse emerged from the OR. Julian intercepted her. "Progress report?"

"The sedative has taken full effect," the nurse confirmed. "She's unconscious and no longer resisting."
