Chapter 329
"Nathaniel, release me!"
Harrison shoved him back with surprising strength. Nathaniel's darkened gaze burned with hunger as he moved to claim her lips again.
"Stop! We're divorced now! Remember Isabella!" Harrison's voice cracked through the tension.
The name hit Nathaniel like an arctic blast, freezing his movements. Harrison seized the moment to push past him, fleeing down the corridor.
Nathaniel remained rooted, grappling with conflicting emotions. Isabella was his responsibility - he owed her that much.
Yet Harrison's pull was undeniable. She was his addiction, his weakness wrapped in silk and fire.
After the group finished their meal, they returned to Silver Pines Hotel.
Nathaniel walked with two colleagues while Harrison and Lucas led the way ahead.
He stole a glance. Lucas was whispering something that made Harrison throw her head back in laughter.
"Nathaniel, you're in Room 621. That work for you?"
His expression remained unreadable. "Where's Lucas staying?"
"Room 609 - right across from Harrison. They'd make such a perfect couple! We should give them some space to connect."
Everyone seemed determined to play matchmaker for Harrison and Lucas.
Nathaniel's jaw tightened. "They're completely incompatible."
His blunt statement made the others exchange surprised looks.
"I'll take Room 607," Nathaniel declared.
One colleague immediately produced his keycard. "That's mine. Happy to switch."
Nathaniel pocketed the card with a curt nod. "Appreciated."
He disappeared into his room without another word.
The group huddled in the hallway. "Why would Nathaniel want to be across from Harrison?"
"Did you hear how he shut down the idea of Lucas and Harrison? Sounded almost... jealous."
"You don't think...?"
"Honestly, they'd be electric together."
Someone pulled out their phone, displaying a photo from earlier - Nathaniel and Harrison standing beneath a black umbrella, snowflakes swirling around them. The aristocratic CEO and the ethereal beauty looked like something from a fairy tale.
Inside his room, Nathaniel showered and collapsed onto the bed. He grabbed his phone, checking Facebook - still no acceptance from Harrison.
His brow furrowed as he sent another friend request. The note simply read: [Accept.]
Just one word. Commanding. Expectant.
Silence.
She was still ignoring him.
Nathaniel exhaled sharply, closing his eyes.
Later, his door clicked open. A slender silhouette slipped inside.
Harrison.
Fresh from the shower, she wore nothing but his oversized white shirt, her toned legs bare. The sight was devastating.
She slid under the covers beside him.
Nathaniel felt her warm body shifting closer. The blanket lifted as Harrison peeked out, her playful smile illuminated by moonlight.
"Awake?"
Nathaniel's eyes flew open, every nerve ending suddenly alert.
