Chapter 794
Nathaniel turned on his heel and strode away without a backward glance.
"Goodbye, Charlotte." Harrison waved at their daughter before rushing after him. "Nathaniel, wait!"
Eleanor glanced at Henry. "I'll catch up with you later."
She hurried after the departing figures.
Little Charlotte tugged at Harrison's sleeve, her big eyes filled with confusion. "Mommy, why did Daddy leave with that scary lady? She's always so mean to you..."
Harrison's gaze lingered where Nathaniel and Isabella had vanished. She smoothed Charlotte's hair with a gentle smile. "Adult relationships can be complicated, sweetheart. But remember—your daddy and I love you more than anything."
Charlotte beamed. "Okay!"
Isabella studied Harrison with concern. "Are you alright?"
Worry laced her voice as she searched Harrison's face.
Harrison shook her head. "I'm fine."
Rosalind scowled. "Isabella knows exactly how to push buttons. Claiming she'll bear Nathaniel's heir? As if she could dictate fate!"
Suddenly, Harrison doubled over, retching violently.
Having eaten little that day, only bile rose, but the nausea was relentless.
Henry and Isabella exchanged alarmed glances. "What's wrong? Are you ill?"
"Was it something you ate?" Victoria asked.
Harrison pressed trembling fingers to her wrist, counting pulses. A shiver ran through her delicate hands.
Rosalind leaned in urgently. "What is it?"
Harrison whispered, "I'm pregnant."
The word sent everyone into motion. Within minutes, they'd rushed her to the hospital despite her medical expertise—prenatal care was non-negotiable.
When the doctor emerged, the group swarmed forward.
"Well?"
"Congratulations," the doctor beamed. "Ms. Whitmore is indeed expecting. And it's twins!"
Twins.
Victoria gasped. "Twins? Good heavens! We've never had twins in our lineage. Harrison is truly blessed!"
As Harrison exited the examination room, Isabella caught her arm, radiant. "You're carrying twins!"
Harrison wasn't surprised. Her pulse diagnosis had already hinted at the miracle.
That night with Nathaniel—no protection, no morning-after pills. One child would've been unexpected enough, but twins?
Even Harrison hadn't foreseen this twist.
"Twin pregnancies are high-risk," Victoria fretted. "You must rest. I'm calling Nathaniel immediately—he'll be overjoyed!"
She reached for her phone, but Harrison stopped her. "Don't."
Victoria hesitated. "He deserves to know. This could change everything—he'd never marry Isabella if—"
Harrison's expression hardened. "Precisely why he can't know. For his survival, this must remain secret." The Heartchain Curse would kill Nathaniel if he returned.
Rosalind protested, "This isn't fair to you!"
Harrison cradled her abdomen, feeling the twin sparks of life within. Two tiny miracles.
"I'll handle Nathaniel when the time is right. Until then, this stays between us."
