Chapter 623
Nathaniel's arms tightened around Harrison as he lifted her limp body. "Get a doctor now!"
His voice cracked with urgency as he sprinted from the room, cradling Harrison against his chest.
Victoria stood motionless, her wide eyes fixed on Theodore's still form sprawled across the bloodied floor. Her fingers trembled violently as hot tears streaked down her cheeks.
"Theodore! Why did you shield her? I never wanted this!" Her voice broke into a sob. "I gave you everything—my youth, my devotion—and you threw it away for her! Don't you dare haunt me for this... Don't you dare!"
Isabella grabbed her mother's arm, panic sharpening her tone. "Snap out of it! Harrison's alive! This isn't over!"
Victoria whirled on her daughter, grief twisting her features. "He was your father too! He raised you, spoiled you—how can you stand there so cold?"
Isabella's gaze flicked to Theodore's body, her lips curling in disgust. "Why should I care? If he hadn't interfered, Harrison would be dead. He ruined everything! He never loved me—not really."
Victoria recoiled. "How could you—"
The door burst open. Margaret stormed in, flanked by security, her scream piercing the air when she saw her son.
"Theodore! No, no, wake up! Please!" She collapsed beside him, shaking his shoulders, but his skin had already gone cold.
Her tear-filled eyes burned into Victoria. "What did you do? Did you murder my boy?"
Victoria stumbled back. "It wasn't me—"
Henry Lancaster entered, his expression thunderous. "Explain this."
Isabella instantly clung to him. "Daddy, I'm terrified!"
Henry's gaze sliced to her. "Who did this? You were here—talk!"
Margaret seized Isabella's arm. "Tell me! My son was recovering—he should be alive! Who took him from me?"
Isabella's finger shot toward Victoria. "Her! She stabbed him!"
Victoria's face drained of color. Her own daughter—her flesh and blood—had just condemned her.
Isabella retreated behind Henry, her voice trembling with manufactured fear. "I saw it happen. She had the knife—it's covered in her prints!"
Margaret lunged, yanking Victoria's hair so hard her scalp burned. "You monster! I'll make you suffer!"
Crack!
The slap echoed through the room. A second blow followed, nails raking Victoria's cheeks. She gasped, her desperate eyes locking onto Isabella. "I'm your mother! I—"
Isabella cut her off, voice icy. "You're a killer. I won't protect you. Harrison and I both saw you do it. The evidence is undeniable."
Margaret twisted Victoria's hair tighter, forcing her head back. "I should've never let you near my family. You'll pay for this—with your life!"
