Chapter 748

"That day will never come. I would never marry Miss Lancaster," Nathaniel declared firmly, his voice leaving no room for doubt.

Harrison crossed her arms, her eyes flashing with defiance. "And I would never marry you."

Nathaniel's lips curved into a teasing smirk. "Why not?"

Harrison opened her mouth to retort, but Nathaniel didn’t give her the chance. His fingers brushed against her chin, tilting her face up as he leaned in. "I know our past is complicated, but my heart has always belonged to you. I never strayed. Just give me one more chance—let’s rewrite our story."

Harrison’s breath hitched, but before she could protest, Nathaniel captured her lips in a searing kiss.

The moment their mouths met, every argument dissolved into heat.

"Mmph—!" Harrison shoved against his chest, but Nathaniel didn’t budge. His arms tightened around her, pulling her flush against him.

"Let go of me!" she demanded, though her voice lacked its usual bite.

Nathaniel chuckled darkly. "Not a chance. You can lie to yourself, but not to me. I know Oliver is just your senior."

Harrison stiffened. How did he know?

"All these years, neither of us moved on. You still love me, and I never stopped loving you."

Her resolve wavered, but she forced out the words anyway. "I don’t love you!"

Nathaniel nipped at her lower lip, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. "Your body says otherwise."

His kiss deepened, demanding and possessive, as if he wanted to brand her with his touch. Harrison hated how easily he unraveled her. She wanted to resist, but her traitorous body arched into him, craving more.

Memories of their past—nights tangled in sheets, their bodies moving in perfect sync—flooded her mind. The way he could make her forget everything but his name.

She shoved at his shoulders. "Stop—"

Nathaniel ignored her weak protest, his lips trailing down the delicate curve of her neck. His fingers slipped beneath her blazer, pushing it open to reveal the thin strap of her dress.

"Your body is already surrendering," he murmured against her skin. "Stop pretending you don’t want this."

Heat rushed to Harrison’s cheeks. A reckless thought took hold—if she couldn’t escape tonight, she might as well enjoy it.

Nathaniel was, after all, an unforgettable lover.

Without hesitation, she tangled her fingers in his hair and kissed him back, taking control.

Nathaniel stilled for a heartbeat before a low laugh rumbled in his chest. His eyes darkened as she nipped at his lips, teasing him with the same fire he’d always adored.

"You little minx," he growled, pulling her closer. "You’re going to be the death of me."

Harrison broke the kiss, her lips trailing down to his throat. She smirked as she felt his pulse jump beneath her mouth. "You don’t seem to mind."

Nathaniel’s grip tightened, as if he wanted to fuse her to him.

With a boldness that surprised even herself, Harrison pushed him into his sleek leather chair and straddled him, settling herself firmly in his lap.

Nathaniel’s hands gripped her waist, his voice rough with desire. "You like being in charge?"

Harrison tugged at his collar, pulling him closer. "Tonight, you’re mine."

His lips curved into a wicked grin. "So I’m just a tool to you?"

She matched his smirk. "You’re whatever you want to be."

Nathaniel’s gaze burned into her. "Tell me, Harrison—did you miss me these past three years? On those lonely nights, did you think of me?"

The intensity in his eyes was dangerous, like he could set her aflame with just a look.

Harrison leaned in, her lips brushing his ear as she whispered, "Every night."

Nathaniel’s breath hitched. "And what did you imagine?"

She traced his jaw with her lips before capturing his mouth again, her voice a sultry murmur against his skin.

"I imagined devouring you whole."
