Chapter 712

Henry didn't release his hold. He allowed Isabella to pour out her emotions against his chest.

Stretching back onto the bed, he drew Isabella closer in a protective embrace. "Do you recall Harrison?" Isabella gave a small nod. "Yes, of course."

"She possesses extraordinary medical talents. The renowned Dr. Sinclair herself. She even restored Victoria's ability to walk."

Isabella's face brightened instantly. "Truly? That's marvelous! I never imagined her skills were so exceptional. Strangely enough, I always feel drawn to that young woman whenever we meet - unlike with Arabella."

Truth be told, Henry shared the same inexplicable connection. Yet the DNA results undeniably confirmed Arabella as their biological child.

Noticing the exhaustion in Isabella's pale eyes, Henry suggested, "I'll contact Harrison to examine you."

Isabella hesitated. "Do you think she'd agree? We've only met once."

Henry gave a casual shrug. "Let's find out."

He reached for his phone.

Isabella gazed up at him. "You're surprisingly concerned about me, considering I'm your ex-wife."

Henry's arm tightened around her. "For the final time, our divorce was never finalized. You're not my ex-wife - you remain Mrs. Lancaster!" Isabella responded with an eye roll.

The call connected after two rings. "Hello, Mr. Lancaster."

"Harrison, I need your assistance."

"Of course. You've helped me before - I'm happy to return the favor."

"Isabella's experiencing health complications. Would you be willing to examine her?"

Without pause, Harrison replied, "Certainly. Where are you? I'll come immediately."

"Lancaster Enterprises," Henry answered. "I can send a car."

"No need. I'll arrange my own transportation. See you shortly."

As the call ended, Isabella's expression brightened. "Is Harrison really coming?"

Henry confirmed with a nod. "Yes."

Isabella attempted to rise. "Then I should prepare."

Henry held her firmly. "Rest here. She'll examine you upon arrival."

Reluctantly, Isabella settled back. "Very well. But you should leave the bed."

Henry traced his fingers along her now-warm skin, shooting her a sidelong glance. "Moments ago you clung to me desperately - now you're kicking me out? How cold."

Isabella arched an eyebrow. "You called me Mrs. Lancaster when grabbing my hand, yet now it's back to Isabella. Who's being cold here?"

Henry fell silent but made no move to release her. "Let me hold you a while longer. Harrison hasn't arrived yet."

"By the time she does, it'll be too late. Do you want her walking in on us like this?"

"And if she does? What's improper about a married couple sharing a bed?"

Their conversation was interrupted by a male voice outside. "Dr. Sinclair, please enter. Mr. Lancaster and Ms. Brewer are inside."

Harrison's gentle voice responded. "Thank you, though I don't see them."

"They must be in the lounge. You may check there."

"Understood."

As the lounge door began to open, Isabella panicked - Henry remained sprawled across her bed. Without hesitation, she planted her foot against his side and shoved him unceremoniously onto the floor.
