Chapter 943
Rosalind Fairchild's heart pounded as she realized Genevieve must never discover her alliance with Julian Blackwood. Every armed guard surrounding them belonged to Julian's private security team.
She forced a bright smile. "I personally hired these men. Paid them from my own savings."
"You hired professional bodyguards?" Reginald's eyebrows shot up in disbelief.
Seeing his skepticism, Rosalind swiftly redirected the conversation. "Remember our agreement - Lucian's life is at stake. Today, we make Ms. Fairchild pay for what she's done!"
Reginald nodded, his momentary suspicion fading.
"Take her away!" Rosalind commanded sharply.
Terror flooded Vivian Astor's veins. She thrashed violently against her captors. "Release me! This is kidnapping! Reginald, I know you're not truly evil. Don't let Genevieve do this! You must understand, I'm—"
Before she could finish, Genevieve made a quick gesture. One of the guards clamped a gloved hand over Vivian's mouth.
Her desperate screams became muffled whimpers as she pleaded with her eyes at Reginald. "Mmmph! Mmmph!"
Reginald frowned. "What was she trying to say?"
"Don't listen to her poisonous words," Genevieve snapped. "She's a master manipulator. This is how she's been controlling Lucian!"
With a shrug, Reginald dismissed his concerns.
Genevieve repeated her order with icy precision: "Take. Her. Away."
The guards dragged the struggling Vivian outside, forcing her into a waiting black SUV that sped toward Silver Pines Medical Center.
"Genevieve! What do you want from me?" Vivian screamed as they hauled her through sterile hospital corridors.
Genevieve's lips curled into a chilling smile. "Patience. All will be revealed."
When they reached the operating theater, Vivian's blood ran cold at the sight of the man waiting there—Julian Blackwood.
Her breath caught. "Julian? Why are you here?"
Genevieve moved to stand beside him as Julian smirked. "Take a guess."
The horrifying realization struck Vivian like lightning.
"You're working together!" she gasped.
Genevieve chuckled darkly. "The perfect partnership, wouldn't you say?"
Vivian's voice shook with rage. "You call yourself Lucian's friend! How could you betray him like this?"
Genevieve's face twisted with malice. "His first mistake was ever loving you."
"Why am I here?" Vivian demanded, her tone glacial.
Julian stepped closer, reaching for her face.
Vivian recoiled. "Don't touch me!"
Undeterred, Julian's hand drifted lower, pressing against her abdomen. "Why do you think we're at a hospital?"
Her eyes widened in horror. "You want to kill my baby?"
His laugh sent shivers down her spine. "Exactly. That abomination shouldn't exist. I'll send it straight to oblivion!"
"NO!" Vivian shrieked, fighting like a wildcat. "Don't you dare hurt my child!"
"What are you waiting for? Restrain her! The doctor's prepped," Genevieve barked.
The guards dragged Vivian into the operating room. Despite her violent struggles, they overpowered her, strapping her to the cold metal table.
"Please! I'm begging you! Don't do this!" Vivian sobbed.
Julian and Genevieve watched from nearby. "Administer the anesthesia. Now!" Julian ordered.
Genevieve's eyes glittered with sadistic pleasure. "Make sure it's thorough. I want that fetus erased."
Bound helplessly, Vivian felt the icy steel beneath her. The blinding surgical lights burned her retinas. As terror consumed her, she prayed desperately for her unborn child's safety.
