Chapter 482
Victoria's eyes gleamed with calculated mischief as she turned to Isabella. "You should inform Nathaniel about Harrison's condition. This could be our chance to eliminate the baby - through his own actions."
The frown that had darkened Isabella's face disappeared instantly. She grasped her mother's scheme immediately, flashing an approving smile.
Victoria's tone turned serious. "But before approaching him, you'll need evidence. Everyone must believe the child belongs to Oliver."
Isabella nodded eagerly. "Consider it done. I'll take care of everything."
At Falcon Enterprises, Nathaniel had just returned to his office. He sat behind his polished mahogany desk, reviewing contracts with a gold-plated pen.
Dominic's voice interrupted the silence. "Mr. Falcon, Ms. Harrison still refuses to undergo the heart surgery for Ms. Isabella. How should we proceed?"
Nathaniel's pen stilled mid-signature.
Dominic hesitated before adding, "After our actions against Mr. Oliver, Ms. Harrison's resentment toward you has... intensified."
Nathaniel's expression hardened into an unreadable mask. He had no choice - his loyalty lay with Isabella.
An image of Harrison's delicate features flashed through his mind - that stubborn set of her jaw, those defiant eyes.
He wished she wouldn't force his hand like this.
A gentle knock sounded at the door.
"Nathaniel." Isabella's voice carried through the wood.
"Enter," he responded evenly.
Isabella stepped inside, her fingers twisting nervously. "I hope this isn't a bad time."
Nathaniel didn't look up from his documents. "I'm swamped today. Can this wait?"
She offered a coy smile. "I wouldn't disturb you unless it was urgent."
"Tomorrow?" His tone suggested he'd rather not deal with this now.
"It's about Harrison," she murmured.
Nathaniel's head snapped up, his piercing gaze locking onto hers. "What about her?"
"Don't misunderstand," Isabella said softly. "Harrison's fine. I just... discovered something about her. After careful consideration, I felt you should know."
Nathaniel leaned forward, his full attention captured. "Explain."
"Nathaniel, brace yourself. This is serious - Harrison is pregnant."
The pen clattered loudly against the marble floor. Nathaniel shot to his feet, shock rippling across his features. "What did you say? Repeat that!"
Isabella maintained steady eye contact. "I caught her purchasing miscarriage prevention herbs. My investigation confirmed it - she's expecting."
So it was true.
Nathaniel had suspected before, but Vitalis Health's examination had claimed otherwise.
She'd lied to him.
Harrison was carrying his child.
His mind reeled. "Why would Harrison hide this from me? That baby is mine!"
He mentally cataloged their intimate moments, the times protection had been forgotten. The withdrawal method wasn't foolproof.
Harrison had conceived his heir.
A storm of emotions churned within him. Fatherhood wasn't part of his plans.
Isabella studied his reaction carefully before delivering her next blow with chilling calm. "You're mistaken. The child isn't yours."
"What?"
Nathaniel froze, his brain struggling to process her words.
"You and Harrison have been divorced for months," Isabella pressed. "She's involved with Oliver now. That baby in her womb? It's his. Not yours."
