Chapter 361
Nathaniel's perfect features twisted into a scowl. "Who gave you these?" His voice carried an edge.
Harrison tilted her head, a smirk playing on her lips. "My boyfriend."
The word hit Nathaniel like a physical blow. His entire demeanor shifted, warmth replaced by icy detachment. He remembered her casual mention of having a boyfriend before. Now this mysterious man had materialized.
"Your sugar daddy, you mean?" Nathaniel sneered.
"Call him whatever you like." She shrugged.
A bitter laugh escaped Nathaniel's lips. "Buying luxury cars and mansions? The Willowbrook elite circle is small. I know every player. Who exactly is this phantom boyfriend of yours?"
Harrison's smirk widened. "Not my problem to solve. I'm leaving."
She turned on her heel.
Nathaniel blocked her path again. "Get a real job. With your education, you should be building a career, not pretending some rich man is keeping you."
He refused to believe her claims. No stunning, wealthy man would be interested in her.
Harrison saw no point in arguing. Oliver had arrived in Willowbrook. Nathaniel would meet him soon enough.
She shoved Nathaniel aside with surprising strength. "My life. My rules."
The door slammed in Nathaniel's face. He stood frozen, arms crossed, jaw clenched. Something wasn't adding up. She was hiding something - he could feel it.
The realization gnawed at him.
The next day found Harrison and Oliver at an upscale boutique. Oliver flashed his signature charming smile. "Pick anything you like. My treat."
"How generous of you." Harrison grinned back.
She began examining the designer racks.
Oliver's phone buzzed. "I need to take this outside."
"Of course."
Alone now, Harrison browsed the collection. An eager sales associate trailed her. "Miss, your elegance is breathtaking! This lace number would complement your figure perfectly."
Harrison considered trying it when a familiar voice rang out. "Harrison? Shopping again?"
She turned to face the newcomers.
Margaret led the pack, flanked by Isabella, Penelope, and Victoria. Isabella had completely recovered from last night's humiliation, her face now radiating smug superiority. The group entered like royalty, noses in the air.
"Clothes shopping?" Isabella asked pointedly.
Harrison nodded. "Obviously."
Penelope couldn't contain her excitement. "We've got amazing news! Want to hear?"
Before Harrison could respond, Margaret burst out laughing. "Remember our investment with Dr. Sinclair? Our money multiplied tenfold! We're rolling in it now!"
Her gaze locked onto Harrison.
"You called Dr. Sinclair a fraud, didn't you? Pure jealousy. Sure, you're book-smart, but look at you now! Married Nathaniel, became a trophy wife, got dumped, and now you're just... existing. You'll never measure up to my golden granddaughters. They're the ones spoiling me now!"
Margaret squeezed Isabella and Penelope's hands, pride oozing from every pore.
At the mention of Dr. Sinclair, Harrison's lips curved into an amused smile. She arched one perfectly shaped eyebrow.
"Tenfold returns from Dr. Sinclair? How... fascinating."
