Chapter 938

Genevieve's fingers tightened around her wine glass. "What's our next move? If Lucian discovers Rosalind's condition, he'll propose immediately!"

Julian Blackwood's expression darkened. "You've been shadowing him for months and missed this? If I hadn't accidentally seen those medical records, we'd already be finished."

Her face paled. "This isn't about blame. We need a solution now. Rosalind Fairchild is carrying Lucian Graves' heir!"

"Calm down," Julian said icily. "He doesn't know yet."

If Lucian had known, the engagement announcement would already be splashed across every tabloid.

Genevieve's manicured nails tapped the table. "Then we still have time. That pregnancy must be terminated before Lucian finds out."

Julian studied her with new interest.

A dangerous glint appeared in Genevieve's eyes. "Surely you don't want Rosalind bearing his child?"

"Don't be absurd," Julian scoffed. "But Genevieve... you're positively vicious."

Her laugh sent chills down the spine. "Would you prefer a weak ally?"

Julian's lips curled. "Then we move quickly. While Lucian remains oblivious, we eliminate the problem."

Genevieve frowned. "Rosalind's guarding that pregnancy like a dragon. She's suspicious of us both. How do we get close enough?"

"That's your specialty," Julian said smoothly. "Find a way. And if possible, use this to permanently sever their connection."

As the initial panic faded, Genevieve's mind raced with possibilities. This crisis could be transformed into opportunity - the perfect wedge to finally separate Lucian and Rosalind.

Their rekindled relationship had seemed unbreakable. But now, with this unexpected pregnancy...

A slow, calculating smile spread across Genevieve's face.

Julian raised an eyebrow. "You've devised something?"

"Naturally. We'll have someone else do our dirty work."

"Who?" Julian leaned forward.

Genevieve's smile turned predatory. "We'll use..."

At The Grand View restaurant, Genevieve waited in a secluded booth.

Footsteps approached. "To what do I owe this unexpected lunch invitation?"

She looked up - Reginald stood before her.

As he took his seat, Genevieve's plan crystallized. Rosalind would never fall for tricks from her or Julian now. But Reginald? Rosalind still trusted him implicitly.

Genevieve adopted a concerned expression. "Did you hear about Lucian and Julian's altercation at the medical center today?"

Reginald's brow furrowed. "Lucian fought Julian? Over Ms. Fairchild again?"

Who else could provoke the famously controlled Lucian Graves to violence?

Genevieve nodded, twisting the knife deeper. "It was brutal. Lucian's completely lost his rationality over her. I fear she'll destroy him. She's already broken his heart once, and now she's doing it again. She doesn't love him - she's using him."

She watched carefully as anger darkened Reginald's features. His hands clenched into fists. "She's gone too far this time!"

Genevieve leaned in, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Would you help protect Lucian?"
