Chapter 167

Harrison froze, unsure what Nathaniel meant.

Wasn't the emerald necklace meant for Isabella?

Why was he asking if she liked it?

Could he have purchased two - one for Isabella and one for her?

With his wealth, it wasn't impossible.

Harrison nearly laughed at the absurdity. Whatever his intentions, she wouldn't play guessing games anymore. That highway encounter had settled everything between them - no debts remained.

She pocketed her phone without responding.

Just then, Isabella approached with a radiant smile. "Harrison! What brings you here?"

Her mood clearly soared, likely from hearing about Nathaniel's emerald gift. As someone who adored luxury, this news must have made her day.

Harrison nodded. "Just passing time."

"Nathaniel's taking Arabella and me to the Silver Pines Resort this weekend. Famous for their mineral springs. You and Alexander should join us!"

Harrison recognized Isabella's insincerity. Since Alexander's birthday, Isabella had been making her moves.

Meeting Isabella's gaze, Harrison smiled faintly. "Sounds lovely. I'm free anyway."

Returning to her dorm with Rosalind, Harrison took a steaming shower. As she finished, her phone rang.

Nathaniel's name flashed on the screen.

Her pulse quickened as she answered, his deep voice resonating through the receiver. "Come outside."

He wanted her to meet him.

After a brief hesitation, Harrison threw on a jacket and stepped out.

The Bentley Continental GT waited at the gates, just like before. Nathaniel leaned against the luxury vehicle, looking every bit the powerful CEO.

Fresh from his business trip, he wore a charcoal overcoat over a crisp white shirt and tailored vest. Passing students stole glances, some even turning for second looks.

Rumors claimed CEOs like him favored young students, but honestly - what girl wouldn't be drawn to a wealthy, handsome man like Nathaniel?

This marked his second visit to Willowridge University's gates recently. His appearances were becoming more frequent.

Harrison jogged over. "Mr. Falcon."

Nathaniel straightened, his gaze locking onto her face. "You ignored my message."

He meant the WhatsApp question about the necklace.

Harrison lied smoothly. "Didn't see it."

Nathaniel's expression cooled. Without another word, he opened the passenger door and retrieved a branded bag, thrusting it toward her. "Here."

The Cartier logo gleamed on the bag containing the emerald and diamond necklace.

Straight from his trip, he'd come to deliver this.

Harrison didn't accept it. "Thank you, but I can't."

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed. Fresh from her shower, her raven hair cascaded in damp waves, her face bare and glowing - skin like freshly peeled lychee.

She looked so pure, so untouched, it was impossible not to be drawn in.

When she spoke, those liquid eyes met his directly, just like that night in the car - soft, sweet, compliant.

Nathaniel's voice dropped dangerously. "You dislike it?"

Harrison shook her head. "Mr. Falcon, gifts aren't necessary. That night, I said - please don't seek me out again."

His expression darkened instantly. With a bitter laugh, he tossed the bag into a nearby trash bin.

Nathaniel slid into the Bentley, slammed the door, and roared away with a press of the accelerator.
