Chapter 215

Nathaniel froze.

Harrison fainted from taking what?

A morning-after pill?

He wanted to demand answers, but before he could speak, the line went dead. Rosalind had hung up.

Isabella, who had overheard, stared at Nathaniel in shock. "Harrison took a morning-after pill and fainted?"

Nathaniel didn’t respond. He shoved Isabella aside without hesitation.

"I'm going to Willowridge University," he snapped, his voice sharp with urgency.

He stormed out.

Isabella turned to Victoria, bewildered. "Mother, what’s happening? Nathaniel and Harrison haven’t been together. Why would she take that pill?"

Victoria frowned, equally confused but serious. "I’ll find out."

Nathaniel arrived at Willowridge in record time, heading straight to the medical office. "Finally! Look at her!" Rosalind dragged him toward the bed.

Nathaniel’s gaze dropped to Harrison.

She lay curled on her side, pale and fragile, her usual defiance gone. She looked heartbreakingly delicate.

Just then, Harrison stirred and opened her eyes.

"Harrison, you're awake," Rosalind murmured, helping her sit up.

Harrison blinked, startled. "Why are you here?"

Nathaniel stood tall, his expression unreadable.

"Rosalind called me," he said flatly.

Harrison hadn’t expected her allergy to morning-after pills would lead to this. She shot Rosalind a glare. "You shouldn’t have—"

Rosalind cut her off. "You had an allergic reaction! Of course I called him! He needs to take responsibility!"

She whirled on Nathaniel, accusatory. "Those pills are already harmful, and her allergy made it worse. If you don’t want kids, take precautions yourself next time! Don’t make her suffer for your carelessness!"

Harrison’s cheeks burned with humiliation.

"Rosalind, stop," she whispered.

Nathaniel’s cold gaze settled on Harrison. He spoke to Rosalind, not her. "Leave."

"Fine. Talk." Rosalind marched out.

Now, they were alone. Harrison shifted uncomfortably. Did he think she’d orchestrated this? That she’d dragged Rosalind into some scheme to trap him?

"Nathaniel—" she began, but he cut her off, his voice icy.

"Have you been seeing Alexander a lot?" His eyes narrowed, studying her.

Harrison stiffened. What kind of question was that?

She had been at the hospital with Alexander.

"Yes," she admitted quietly.

Nathaniel smirked, his lips curling with disdain.

So, the pill was for Alexander. Had they been reckless?

His gaze turned colder, laced with mockery.

"Why did you take it?" he demanded, voice dripping with contempt.

Harrison looked down. "I didn’t want to get pregnant."

She didn’t want his child.

For a fleeting second, something flickered in Nathaniel’s eyes. Then it vanished. "Smart. It’s fine if we see others, but if you end up pregnant, don’t expect anything from me."

Harrison’s breath hitched.

What? What was he implying?

The warmth in her chest dissolved into icy numbness. Her hands turned cold.

Nathaniel’s smirk deepened. "After all this, you still called me? Don’t ever do that again."
