Chapter 246
Daphne's cheeks flushed with coy anticipation. "Mr. Falcon, tomorrow's my birthday celebration. Would you honor me with your presence?"
As Willowbrook's rising star, Daphne lived under constant media scrutiny. Having Nathaniel Falcon - billionaire mogul and Willowbrook's most powerful man - at her party would cement her status indefinitely.
Harrison's sharp gaze flickered to Nathaniel, who merely inclined his head. "Fine."
He'd accepted Daphne's invitation.
Her heart leapt. "Thank you, Mr. Falcon!"
"Given your condition, you should rest." Nathaniel's apparent concern made Daphne practically glow. She cradled her abdomen protectively.
"I'll go home now. Don't worry - our baby's perfectly safe. See you tomorrow."
Daphne shot Harrison a triumphant smirk before strutting away, her manager trailing behind with matching smugness.
Nathaniel closed the distance to Harrison in three long strides.
His smoldering gaze traced every delicate curve of her face, lingering hungrily.
"Mr. Falcon, eyes to yourself!" Rosalind snapped.
"Shouldn't you be doting on your pregnant girlfriend?" Gabrielle added acidly.
Ignoring them, Nathaniel seized Harrison's wrist. "You're coming with me."
He dragged her forward without waiting for consent.
Harrison dug in her heels. "Release me!"
"Let her go!" Both friends lunged forward.
Nathaniel simply scooped Harrison over his shoulder like a sack of flour and turned on his heel.
"Hey! You can't just abduct people!" Their protests died as Nathaniel's security detail blocked pursuit.
Helpless, they watched Nathaniel carry Harrison away.
"What's his problem? Where's he taking her?"
Nathaniel dumped Harrison into his Bentley's backseat, speeding toward Emerald Heights.
Harrison stiffened upon recognizing their destination. She refused to exit.
Nathaniel solved that by hauling her over his shoulder again.
"Put me down!" Harrison pummeled his back with furious fists.
The head housekeeper rushed over at the commotion. "Mr. and Mrs. Falcon!"
Nathaniel strode into the parlor, unceremoniously depositing Harrison onto the plush sofa.
The moment her body hit the cushions, memories of that night flooded back. She scrambled upright, only for Nathaniel to cage her in, one knee beside her hip as he pinned her wrists.
"Nathaniel, don't you dare!" Harrison thrashed wildly, her lithe form twisting beneath him like a trapped butterfly. When her hands proved useless, she lashed out with her legs.
Damn her stubbornness!
Nathaniel's eyes darkened dangerously, his breathing ragged. "Keep fighting me, Harrison, and we'll recreate that night in vivid detail."
