Chapter 248
"Harrison, are you alright? What did Mr. Falcon bring you here for?"
Rosalind and Gabrielle quickly steadied Harrison as she stood frozen, struggling to process everything.
Harrison frowned, still baffled by Nathaniel's actions. He had brought her to Emerald Heights, then apologized twice—completely unlike him.
But then she remembered Daphne's pregnancy, and her anger toward Nathaniel faded. She refused to waste another second on him.
"Let's go," she said flatly.
"Alright," Rosalind and Gabrielle agreed.
The three walked away, while Nathaniel remained on the couch, his expression darkening as he masked the hunger in his gaze.
Just then, Dominic entered and murmured, "Mr. Falcon, I've uncovered something."
Nathaniel looked up. "Speak."
"Daphne has a boyfriend back in the countryside. He adores her—works grueling construction jobs to pay for her education. They've been intimate, and the child she's carrying is his."
Nathaniel's lips curled into a cold smirk. "Tomorrow's her birthday, isn't it? Prepare a special gift for her."
Dominic nodded. "Understood."
Nathaniel's gaze sharpened. "That night at the hospital—it wasn't Daphne. It was Harrison. I'm disappointed you didn't know. Don't let it happen again."
Dominic flushed. "My apologies, sir. I never expected Mrs. Falcon to seek you out. Seems she still cares for you."
Did she?
That night, drugged by the aphrodisiac, he'd driven to the hospital expecting rejection.
But she hadn't refused.
She came.
She wanted him.
The next day
Harrison, Rosalind, and Gabrielle arrived at The Grand Celeste—only to find Daphne's birthday extravaganza in full swing.
The event was packed with fans and journalists.
Harrison spotted Daphne, radiant in a custom pink gown, her hair in an elaborate braid. She posed for photos, her youthful beauty glowing under the lights.
Fans gushed:
"Daphne, you're stunning!"
"You're perfect—absolutely breathtaking!"
"Can I get your autograph?"
Her manager, Genevieve, stepped forward. "Daphne, it's time to begin."
Daphne giggled. "Let's wait a little longer. Our special guest hasn't arrived yet."
The crowd buzzed. "Who is it, Ms. Sinclair?"
Daphne winked. "That's a secret!"
Rosalind and Gabrielle exchanged disgusted glances. "Some people are shameless."
Harrison, who'd planned to stay for dinner, suddenly lost her appetite. "Let's eat elsewhere."
"Agreed. I can't stand this."
They turned to leave—but Daphne spotted Harrison. Smirking, she sauntered over.
"Harrison! Here for my party?"
Harrison met her smug gaze. "No."
Daphne's smile widened. "Why leave? Mr. Falcon will be here soon. As my dear friend, shouldn't you stay to witness the happiest moment of my life?"
