Chapter 274

The crowd had hoped to witness Harrison's humiliation. Instead, she'd turned the tables spectacularly. Their stunned silence spoke volumes.

Nathaniel's gaze followed Harrison's retreating figure, his expression inscrutable. His jaw tightened imperceptibly before he spoke in a controlled tone. "That's enough."

Isabella's anger simmered beneath a carefully constructed calm. She forced herself to focus on her objective.

"Nathaniel, you promised to introduce me to Rosalind tonight. Where is she?"

Marrying Nathaniel remained her top priority.

Spotting Rosalind nearby, Nathaniel murmured, "I'll handle it."

Isabella immediately thrust forward an exclusive designer purse. "Give her this. It's the limited edition she wanted."

Meanwhile, Rosalind grew concerned about Harrison's prolonged absence. She rose to search for her friend.

"Nathaniel intercepted her. "Rosalind."

She deliberately turned away.

He blocked her path. "Since when do you ignore family?"

As Alistair Whitmore's daughter using her mother's surname, Rosalind's true identity remained unknown to Isabella and Arabella.

Born late in Alistair's life with a distinctive facial birthmark, Rosalind had been doted on by both the Whitmore family and Nathaniel.

Her glare could have melted steel. "How could you treat Harrison like that? After your divorce, she ran a 107-degree fever for a week! She cried in her sleep-"

Nathaniel's sharp interruption cut through her words. "Enough! I won't discuss her."

Rosalind fell silent.

His voice turned glacial. "We're divorced. Her name doesn't belong in our conversations."

Rosalind recoiled at his callousness.

Nathaniel extended the designer bag.

She eyed it suspiciously. "What's this?"

"Isabella's gift."

Rosalind shoved it back violently. "Keep your mistress's bribes! I want nothing from that homewrecker!"

Nathaniel's frown deepened. "Rosalind, behave. Isabella's making efforts to befriend you. Meet her halfway."

"Befriend Isabella?" Rosalind scoffed. "Her pathetic attempts mean nothing to me. I'll never accept someone like her."

Nathaniel's lips thinned. "We're getting married. She'll be family."

Rosalind's eyes widened. "You're marrying her right after divorcing Harrison?"

Isabella had always been the intended bride. Harrison was merely an interlude during Nathaniel's coma.

"Yes." His confirmation held finality.

After a tense silence, Rosalind extended her hand. "Fine. Give it here."

As Nathaniel complied, she added coldly, "If she's becoming family, I'll tolerate her presence. Nothing more."
