Chapter 308

Harrison finally grasped Margaret's scheme. This was nothing but a calculated move to marry her off to some rural backwater.

Marcus Whitfield stared at Harrison, clearly unprepared for her breathtaking beauty. He offered an awkward smile. "Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Whitmore."

Just then, Isabella's laughter cut through the air. "Grandmother, what's going on here?"

Harrison lifted her gaze—Isabella wasn't alone. She clung to Nathaniel's arm as they entered together.

Nathaniel was here too.

Margaret immediately brightened. "Mr. Falcon, Isabella, perfect timing! Harrison is being introduced to her potential husband, Marcus."

Without hesitation, she nudged Marcus forward, positioning him right beside Harrison.

Penelope had been in high spirits lately, her face alight with smug satisfaction.

"Harrison, Marcus is a certified high school teacher in the countryside. Government job, stable income, college-educated—cultured, respectable. Meanwhile, you dropped out at sixteen, no degree, no career. Marrying him is a step up for you. Grandmother went through great lengths to arrange this."

Victoria chimed in with a laugh. "Harrison, Marcus is an excellent match. You'd be a fool to refuse."

Isabella tilted her head, flashing Nathaniel a sweet smile. "Nathaniel, don't you think they make a perfect pair?"

Nathaniel's gaze settled on Harrison.

Marcus, with his plain features and thick-rimmed glasses, stood dutifully beside her. Utterly unremarkable. Yet Harrison, radiant and poised, stood out like a rare bloom beside him.

Nathaniel's lips pressed into a thin line.

Margaret turned to Marcus. "Mr. Whitfield, are you satisfied with Harrison?"

Men were visual creatures. Though Marcus prided himself on valuing virtue over beauty, he couldn't deny Harrison's natural elegance was intoxicating.

Even with her lack of education and career, he was willing to overlook it all.

Marcus looked at Harrison earnestly. "Very satisfied. Ms. Whitmore, I'll be in Willowbrook for two days. I was fortunate enough to secure an invitation to the Global Scholars Forum. I'd love to take you the day after tomorrow—a chance for us to get acquainted."

When Penelope heard Marcus mention the Global Scholars Forum, her eyes lit up. She turned eagerly to Nathaniel. "Mr. Falcon, I heard Westfield's prodigy will be delivering the keynote speech alongside you!"

Lately, Willowbrook had been buzzing about one thing—Westfield's genius girl.

Even Margaret, who rarely left the estate, had heard the name. Victoria and Cassandra from the third branch had been inundated with gossip from their high-society circles.

Everyone was obsessed with this mysterious prodigy.

No matter how accomplished Isabella and Penelope were, they paled in comparison to this girl.

Faced with sheer brilliance and academic prowess, they didn't stand a chance.

Margaret exhaled in awe. "They say this Westfield genius, just like Mr. Falcon, skipped grades and earned dual master's degrees by sixteen. Another record-breaker."

Victoria shook her head. "Is such a girl even real? Someone who can stand toe-to-toe with Nathaniel?"

Cassandra smirked. "I already secured invitations to the Global Scholars Forum. The whole family is attending. I'm dying to see what this so-called genius looks like. Maybe she’s got superhuman abilities."
