Chapter 424

Everett yanked the blanket over his face. Silence.

First time doing something questionable, and she caught him. Unbelievable luck.

Rosalind tugged the blanket down. "Talk to me. Why are you watching this?"

Everett lay motionless, one long leg dangling off the bed. His posture was relaxed, but there was something untamed beneath the surface—wild, reckless.

Rosalind leaned over him, her soft body pressing into his.

Everett gave up pretending. "So what if I did?"

"You—" Rosalind was speechless at his shamelessness.

He studied her delicate face. "You can leave now."

"No."

"Then what do you want?"

"I want to watch too!"

Everett's eyes narrowed. He grabbed for the phone, but Rosalind dodged, clicking play.

"Rosalind!"

They tumbled onto the bed, Everett ending up behind her, his body flush against hers.

Rosalind grinned, eyes sparkling. "Let's watch together."

Everett said nothing, just watched her.

She hit play.

Everett exhaled, defeated. He'd wanted privacy, but now? This train had left the station.

Before he could react, Rosalind climbed onto him, her face flushed. Boldly, she kissed him.

Everett's large hands gripped her waist.

Rosalind wrapped her legs around him. "We shouldn't," Everett muttered, though his resolve was crumbling.

She met his gaze, voice soft. "I've never done this before. You're my first, Everett. I love you. I want you."

Her confession shattered his restraint.

A knock at the door froze them both.

"Everett? Are you asleep?"

Everett yanked the blanket over Rosalind. "In bed, Mom. What's wrong?"

Margaret's voice filtered through. "The storm's going all night. The roads will be slick tomorrow. Don't let Rosalind walk to school alone—take her."

"Got it."

Rosalind, hidden beneath the covers, pressed a kiss to his neck, trailing up to his ear.

Everett's throat tightened. "Rosalind," he warned.

Margaret continued, "At the school gates, go your separate ways. Protect her reputation."

Everett sighed. "Understood. Goodnight, Mom."

The moment the door closed, Everett flipped Rosalind beneath him, eyes blazing. "You'd better not regret this."
