Chapter 558
Oliver's fury was palpable. "Be careful!"
At that moment, Harrison grasped his arm and gave a subtle shake of her head. "It's alright. I'll just visit briefly."
Oliver lowered his voice, urgency lacing his words. "Isabella is absolutely setting a trap. If you go, you're walking straight into her hands."
Harrison's gaze flicked to the butler. "I trust Mr. Lancaster's integrity. He'll ensure my safety."
Oliver still resisted. "But—"
"I need to see what kind of poison Isabella has concocted this time," Harrison interrupted, her tone firm.
Meeting her steady, unwavering eyes, Oliver had no choice but to relent. "Just... be cautious."
Harrison nodded. "I will."
The butler gestured politely. "Ms. Harrison, right this way."
She followed him out without hesitation.
Rosalind and Gabrielle tried to step forward but were immediately blocked by the black-clad guards. Their voices rose in concern. "Harrison!"
She offered them a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. I'll be fine."
With that, she slipped into the sleek luxury car and vanished from sight.
Gabrielle wrung her hands. "What is Isabella planning now?"
Rosalind scowled. "She's been unbearable since reuniting with her father. Thinks she can do whatever she wants just because he's the richest man alive. How does someone like her get so lucky? How is she even his daughter?"
Frustration simmered between them.
Just then, a Rolls-Royce Shadow screeched to a halt nearby. Nathaniel had arrived.
He leaped out, urgency in every movement. "Where's Harrison? Did she leave already?"
Rosalind gave him a pointed look. "You're late."
"What?"
Nathaniel's gaze darted around, realization dawning—Harrison was gone. Again.
"Harrison—"
"She didn't leave. She was taken to the Whitmore estate by Mr. Lancaster."
Nathaniel stiffened. He turned to Rosalind, frustration boiling over. "Could you not drag it out next time?"
He had assumed she'd already departed.
"The Falcon and Lancaster families have a marriage alliance. Both Mr. Lancaster and Isabella are targeting Harrison. She could be in real danger at the Whitmore estate," Gabrielle explained quickly.
Nathaniel's fists clenched. "I'm going after her."
Without another word, he jumped back into his car and sped toward the Whitmore estate.
Harrison was led into the grand Whitmore estate, where Victoria stood abruptly, her anger barely contained. "What did you do to Isabella? What poison did you give her?"
Harrison met her gaze evenly. "How do you know I poisoned her?"
"Who else could it be?" Victoria snapped. "After she spoke with you at the boutique, she returned feeling ill. The doctor confirmed it was poison!"
Margaret jabbed an accusing finger at her. "How could you? You tried to kill Isabella? You're heartless!"
A faint, knowing smile curved Harrison's lips as her eyes swept over their faces.
"So, poisoning someone is heartless?" she mused coolly. "I wasn't sure you realized. When the two of you conspired to poison my father all those years ago, wasn't that evil? What right do you have to stand here and judge me?"
Margaret paled, fury twisting her features. "Harrison, how dare you speak to us like that!"
Victoria's eyes turned glacial. "You've crossed the line this time."
Without warning, her hand snapped up—aiming straight for Harrison's face.
