Chapter 621

Harrison stood frozen in shock. She had witnessed Theodore's devotion to Isabella firsthand - perhaps more intense than anyone else's affection.

But now, Theodore's demeanor had transformed completely, making an abrupt about-face as he labeled Isabella a deceiver.

What falsehoods had Isabella fabricated?

Harrison studied Theodore's face, her bewilderment intensifying. "Isabella lied? What exactly did she lie about?"

Theodore nodded eagerly, his fingers trembling as he began tracing letters on Harrison's palm. "She...is...not..."

Not what? What wasn't Isabella?

Theodore was preparing to write "Ms. Lancaster," intending to reveal Isabella wasn't Henry's biological daughter. But at that precise moment, the door burst open with a sharp creak.

Harrison turned to see Isabella and Victoria sweeping into the room.

Isabella shoved past Harrison with unnecessary force. "What are you doing hovering over my father? Planning to hurt him?"

Harrison rose slowly, her eyebrows knitting together as she met Isabella's hostile gaze. "Why the hysterics?"

Isabella shot Harrison a venomous look before clutching Theodore's frail hand possessively. "Father, I heard about your fall! I rushed here immediately - I've been sick with worry!"

Theodore regarded Isabella with icy revulsion, attempting to pull away from her grasp, but her fingers tightened like vices.

"You must have been terrified," Isabella cooed, "but I'm perfectly fine now. That dreadful poison is completely out of my system."

Victoria moved to flank Isabella, adding her support. "Darling, Isabella has been beside herself with concern. She's utterly devoted. You'll recover soon, I'm certain."

Isabella turned her glare on Harrison. "Why are you still here? Get out! My father doesn't need you - he needs me!"

Theodore's mouth worked desperately, but no sound emerged.

Victoria strategically positioned herself between Harrison and Theodore's line of sight.

Harrison offered a tight smile and shrugged. "Very well, I'll leave."

She began gathering her acupuncture needles.

At that moment, Isabella exchanged a loaded glance with Victoria - a silent signal. With Harrison's back turned, the moment was perfect.

Victoria's eyes burned with barely contained malice as she stared at Harrison's unprotected back. Eliminating Harrison would remove the final obstacle between her and Isabella's ambitions.

Steel glinted as Victoria produced a slender blade from her sleeve, the edge catching the sterile hospital light.

The room was otherwise empty - the ideal circumstances for their scheme.

Victoria advanced toward Harrison with measured steps.

Harrison remained focused on organizing her medical supplies, oblivious to the approaching threat. She only noticed Victoria's ominous expression as the woman drew nearer.

From his wheelchair, Theodore saw everything unfolding. His eyes bulged in silent panic, his entire frame trembling with terror.

Victoria now stood directly behind Harrison. In one fluid motion, she raised the knife for a lethal strike.

The sickening sound of steel piercing flesh echoed through the room, followed by a choked gasp.

Harrison whirled around at the noise. To her absolute shock, Theodore had somehow summoned the strength to rise from his wheelchair and place himself between her and danger.

Victoria's blade had sunk deep into Theodore's abdomen, crimson spreading rapidly across his hospital gown.

Harrison's eyes widened in horror. She lunged forward to support Theodore, her voice shaking with fury. "Victoria, have you lost your mind?!"

Victoria stood paralyzed, stunned. She'd never anticipated that Theodore, in his weakened state, could possibly intervene.

The warmth of Theodore's blood seeped into her fingers, freezing her in place.

This was the man she'd loved for decades - and she'd just plunged a knife into his chest with her own hands.
