Chapter 663

Nathaniel's gaze dropped to his buzzing phone screen—an unrecognized number flashed across the display.

Dominic moved closer, eyebrows raised. "That's not a contact I recognize. Who could be calling you at this hour?"

Nathaniel's jaw tightened as he hesitated. With a quick swipe, he answered. A voice, smooth and achingly familiar, flowed through the receiver.

"Hello, Mr. Falcon. It's Harrison."

Harrison?

Nathaniel's breath hitched. In all his wildest imaginings, he hadn't anticipated this. She'd changed her number years ago—three, to be exact.

He'd assumed she was already airborne, halfway across the world. Yet here she was, reaching out. The unexpected contact sent a surge of hope coursing through him.

His grip on the phone turned white-knuckled, his voice barely steady. "Did you leave?"

"I was about to," she admitted, her tone strained. "But something happened. Someone took Charlotte and Mrs. Victoria!"

Taken?

Nathaniel shot to his feet, his voice razor-sharp. "What did you just say? Who took them?"

Harrison relayed the chaotic scene at the airport in rushed, fractured sentences. Without missing a beat, Nathaniel commanded, "Stay right there. I'm coming."

Dominic's expression darkened. "Are Miss Charlotte and Mrs. Victoria in danger?"

Nathaniel's eyes turned stormy. "Someone dared to snatch my family on my own territory. They'll regret it."

At the airport, Harrison and the maid paced anxiously. Then, cutting through the frigid air like a blade, Nathaniel appeared—tall, imposing, the very air around him crackling with barely restrained fury.

"Harrison!" he called.

She whirled around, relief flooding her features. "You're here! You have to find them—Charlotte and Mrs. Victoria—"

Nathaniel locked onto her gaze, seeing the raw fear there. "I will."

Dominic stepped forward. "I've already dispatched a team to pull the airport surveillance."

Nathaniel gave a curt nod. "And?"

Dominic's lips thinned. "Every camera in the vicinity malfunctioned today. The footage is gone."

Harrison's stomach dropped. The timing was too precise. Too deliberate.

She met Nathaniel's eyes. "This wasn't an accident. Someone disabled those cameras on purpose."

Nathaniel's expression turned glacial. "This is Metropolia's central airport. Tampering with security here takes serious resources. This was planned."

Harrison nodded grimly. "They came for Charlotte. Mrs. Victoria was caught in the crossfire trying to protect her. But who would target a child?"

Nathaniel's gaze sharpened. "Any enemies? Anyone you've crossed recently?"

Harrison shook her head. "I just got back to Metropolia. I haven't had time to make enemies here."

A beat of silence. Then Nathaniel's voice dropped. "What about Oliver?"

Harrison blinked.

Nathaniel pressed, "Oliver is Charlotte's father. If he made an enemy, they might use her to get to him."

Harrison's throat tightened.

She shook her head again. "No. That's impossible."

Nathaniel exhaled sharply. "This is Metropolia. My mother was taken too. Whoever did this won't act recklessly. They'll contact us. We wait."

Harrison's voice cracked. "Wait? What if they don't? Charlotte's only three—she's never been away from me before! I can't just—"
