Chapter 676
Harrison attempted to rise from her position.
In that instant, Nathaniel took several deliberate steps backward, his grip on her unyielding as he pressed her slender waist firmly against the marble vanity. The cold surface bit into her skin as he effectively caged her between the counter and his powerful frame.
A tremor ran through Harrison's body. "Release me this instant!" Her voice wavered despite her command.
Her palms flattened against the solid wall of his chest, pushing with all her might—yet he didn't budge. Instead, Nathaniel pulled her closer until their bodies aligned, the thin barrier of fabric doing little to disguise the heat between them. His voice dropped to a gravelly whisper. "Stay. Still."
Harrison froze, her breath hitching as she registered the unmistakable evidence of his arousal. Crimson flooded her porcelain cheeks. "Have you lost your mind?!"
"I'm only human," Nathaniel countered, his jaw tight. "Three years without touching a woman, and now you're standing there looking like that? What did you expect?"
Her fingers curled into fists against his shirt. "Let. Me. Go."
"Keep squirming like that, darling, and I won't be responsible for what happens next."
Harrison went rigid.
Nathaniel seized the opportunity to tilt her chin up, capturing her lips in a searing kiss that left her gasping.
She shoved him away, her eyes blazing. "We had an agreement! One more stunt like that, and I'm walking out that door!"
The threat worked. Nathaniel released her with a frustrated exhale. "Fine. Go shower."
Harrison scrambled backward, putting several feet between them.
A sharp rap at the door interrupted the tension. Dominic's voice filtered through. "Mr. Falcon, I've brought the items you requested."
Nathaniel wrenched the door open, snatched the bag, and dismissed his secretary with a terse, "Leave."
The door clicked shut. He extended the bag toward Harrison without a word.
"Thank you." She inspected the contents—luxury toiletries, skincare, and... Her fingers closed around silky fabric. Her expression darkened.
"Care to explain this?" She flung the offending garment at him.
Nathaniel caught the scrap of lace and satin, his eyebrows shooting up. The "sleepwear" consisted of two translucent triangles connected by flimsy straps.
His mouth opened, then closed. "This isn't—Dominic clearly misunderstood my instructions."
Harrison's blush deepened to scarlet. "Birds of a feather! No wonder your employees act this way!"
Nathaniel pinched the bridge of his nose. For once, he was genuinely innocent.
Watching her furious expression, a slow smirk curved his lips. "Since you've already convicted me, I might as well enjoy the sentence. You're wearing this tonight." He advanced on her. "Shall I help you change?"
Harrison's eyes widened. "You're revolting!"
She bolted into the bathroom, slamming the door and twisting the lock.
A low chuckle rumbled in Nathaniel's chest as he stared at the closed door.
