Chapter 750
Harrison stared at Nathaniel, her heart pounding. "We're getting married today?"
Nathaniel sat up, his muscular frame casting a shadow over her. "Absolutely. After last night, you practically left me breathless. Don't you think you owe me some responsibility?"
Her cheeks burned. Him? Breathless? He had been the one who acted like an untamed predator!
"I don't want to get married!" she snapped. The idea of binding herself to Nathaniel again had never seriously crossed her mind.
Just then, Charlotte wrapped her tiny arms around Harrison’s neck. "Mommy, why won’t you marry Daddy?"
Guilt twisted in Harrison’s chest. For three years, Charlotte had yearned for a father, for a complete family. Harrison had failed her.
"Charlotte, I—"
"Oh! I know!" Charlotte gasped dramatically. "Daddy must have done something bad to make you sad. That’s why you won’t marry him! Daddy, this is all your fault!"
Harrison couldn’t help but smile. Her little girl was her fiercest protector.
Nathaniel’s gaze softened as he looked at Harrison. "She’s right. I made mistakes. I hurt you. But I’m asking for one more chance." His fingers tightened around hers. "Let Charlotte be my judge. If I fail again, she can punish me."
Charlotte’s eyes sparkled. "Mommy, Daddy messed up, so he has to fix it! Please give him another chance!"
Harrison laughed. This little schemer was too clever for her own good.
Nathaniel’s thumb brushed over her knuckles. "Stop running. I know you still love me—just as I love you. We’ve wasted three years. Let’s start over. Be my Mrs. Falcon. I’ll spend every day proving I deserve you."
Her resolve wavered.
She did love him. Despite everything, her heart had never truly let go.
And now, they had Charlotte. Maybe this was the right path.
Before she could answer, a sharp knock interrupted them.
Dominic’s voice carried through the door. "Mr. Falcon, Mrs. Victoria is here!"
Victoria.
Harrison stiffened. Nathaniel’s mother had always pushed him to marry Isabella Lancaster, the heiress to their family’s fortune. The Falcons and Lancasters had been allies for generations.
Would Victoria accept her as Nathaniel’s wife?
Nathaniel squeezed her hand. "Relax. My mother adores you and Charlotte. She won’t say no."
Charlotte beamed. "Mrs. Victoria is here! I want to see her!" She scrambled off the bed and dashed out before Harrison could stop her.
Victoria stood in the CEO’s office, her expression tense. The lounge door burst open, and Charlotte sprinted toward her.
"Mrs. Victoria!"
Victoria immediately knelt and gathered Charlotte into her arms. "Sweetheart! I was so worried when you disappeared! I couldn’t sleep—I had to find you!"
Charlotte giggled. "Daddy brought me here!"
Victoria froze. "Daddy?"
Charlotte nodded eagerly. "Yes! Mr. Handsome is my Daddy!"
