Chapter 841
Lucian froze. "Lillian!"
Without hesitation, Lillian sprinted toward him.
His arms opened instinctively, pulling her into a crushing embrace.
Tears soaked through his shirt as she buried her face against his chest. Her voice trembled. "It's really you... I knew it was you that day. Why didn't you tell me?"
That day, he had disguised himself as a cab driver. She had recognized him instantly, but he had denied it.
Lucian held her tighter, his scarred face hidden against her hair. He wished she could remember him as he once was—the brother from before the fire, before the scars.
"Where were you all these years?" Lillian choked out between sobs. "Why didn't you come home? Rosalind and I—we missed you so much!"
His grip tightened. "I thought of you both every day."
Their parents were gone. In this world, he only had Rosalind and Lillian left.
One was the woman he loved. The other, his blood.
He would never let go of either.
Genevieve stood frozen, her mind blank. She hadn't realized Lillian was Lucian's sister.
This was disastrous. She had just insulted his sister!
Reginald smiled warmly. "Come now, Lillian, don't cry. This is a happy day—you've found Lucian again."
Lucian wiped her tears away. "If you keep crying, your eyes will swell."
Lillian sniffled. "I almost didn't get to see you!"
His brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
She shot a glare at the receptionist. "She wouldn't let me in! Just a receptionist, but she acts like she owns the place—too busy sucking up to actually do her job!"
The receptionist's legs buckled. Now that she knew Lillian was Lucian's sister, she knew she was finished.
"Mr. Graves, I can explain—"
"Don't bother." His voice was ice. "Security. Remove her."
The guards moved instantly.
The woman turned desperately to Genevieve. "Ms. Blackwood, help me! I was just following your orders!"
Genevieve snapped, "Shut your mouth!"
Lucian's gaze darkened. "Explain."
Genevieve forced a smile. "It was just a misunderstanding. I didn't know she was your sister."
Lillian scoffed. "Misunderstanding? Then why did you have your people throw me out?"
Genevieve opened her mouth, but Lillian cut her off.
"Lucian," she said firmly, locking eyes with him. "Tell me—what is she to you? Your girlfriend?"
He hesitated. "She's—"
"If she is, then I won't acknowledge you as my brother ever again."
Reginald interjected quickly. "Lillian, you're overreacting! There must be some mistake."
Lillian shook her head. "No mistake. The only woman I'll accept as my sister-in-law is Rosalind."
Reginald sneered. "Do you even know what Rosalind did to him three years ago? She abandoned him! Genevieve has been by his side all this time—"
